The case, which is a bit portly, uses an adjustable mirror mounted in the shelf at the top of the case to reflect what youre seeing into the cameras lens. The shelf also doubles as a handy grip when youre holding your iPhone one-handed, or as a stand when its lying on a flat suce.

Mirrorcase CEO John Palmeri told Wired that he expects the iPad version to be popular with students. The iPad version of the app will let you bookmark points in video and add notes, so if youre recording a lecture you can easily note important parts of the lesson. And since the iPad would be laying angled slightly upward on your desk, its also less obvious, and less annoying, than if youre holding a 9.7-inch tablet in front of your ce and recording video.

Mirrorcase for iPhone 4/4S recently hit the market for $50. An iPad version is coming soon, to be followed by one for the iPhone 5. The iPhone 5 model tucks the mirror into a the case when not in use. Simply flick it out and give it a twist and youre ready to go.
